Tropical Storm Kong-Rey batters Taiwan

TAIPEI, Taiwan (AP) -- Tropical Storm Kong-Rey has battered Taiwan, dumping more than 500 millimeters (19 inches) of rain on the heavily populated west coast and causing widespread flooding.
